Descriptive Detail

Welcome to your first stop on the mountain! You've hooked your reader with an outstanding hook, now we need to set the scene so your reader can really connect with your story. Take your time with your descriptions, the reader should begin to feel that they are there, in the story, with your main character.

Your descriptions should include:

• Your character:
  What do they look like? How do they behave? What type of person are they?
• Your setting:
  Where does your story take place? What does it feel like to be standing there? What can your character see, hear, feel etc.
  
• Special Objects:
  Some stories may have a special or important object. If your story does, don't forget to describe it well!
