Grid References
Grid references are a simple way to find places on a map. Think of the map as a big board game. The lines going across and up and down create little boxes. Each box has an address made from a letter and a number.
Grid references help us:
- The letters run across the bottom (like A, B, C…)
- The numbers run up the side (like 1, 2, 3…)
Grid references help us:
- Find places quickly
- Follow directions
- Read maps confidently
- Talk about locations clearly
