Today we are going to reflect on friendship.
Many of us can think about our classmates who we consider to be 'good friends'. These are typically people who we tend to enjoy spending time with. We might enjoy playing games, having a joke or just having a relaxing chat with our good friends.
Sometimes, the people who we are comfortable and enjoy being around do not always help us to make strong choices. In fact, there may be times when we are emotionally hijacked that our 'good friends' can encourage us to make not so good choices. That is when we need to be aware of the difference between a 'good friend', someone we enjoy hanging out with, and a strong friend, someone we can rely on to help us make smart choices.
Today we are asking you to share what values or virtues do you think make a strong friend. If you are stuck, you can think about a time where you were emotionally hijacked and, as a result, you spoke or acted with pure emotion. Perhaps your behaviour caused embarrassment or hurt. How could a strong friend have helped you in this situation?
