This week we have been looking at different intensities of emotions. For example, feelings 'angry' can be different to feeling annoyed, frustrated, enraged and livid. We know there are many different levels of emotions and that we can use the mood meter to help us rank them.
We also know there are different events, actions, words or triggers, that are likely to push us into the red in the mood meter. These are called our hot buttons. These are the things we know which can make us emotionally hijacked. It is important to be aware of what our hot buttons are, so that we can be prepared if they happen to be pushed.
Today we are asking you to share one of your hot buttons and what you can do to manage it. If you are stuck, think about times you have found yourself emotionally hijacked in the red. Perhaps you know you become frustrated if you loose in a video game, or if someone cheats in a game of tag.
