Symmetry
Have you ever looked at a butterfly’s wings and noticed how they look the same on both sides? Or folded a piece of paper in half and seen how the two parts match up perfectly? That’s symmetry! Symmetry happens when one half of something is a mirror image of the other half. Symmetry is all around us—in nature, art, buildings, and even the way we design objects.
TIP: A shape has a line of symmetry if it can be folded in a way that the two parts are exactly the same.
