Frequently Asked Questions

Check out the answers to some of our frequently asked questions below.
Does my child have to wear full school uniform to the graduation?
No. Your child is welcome to wear full school uniform, or alternatively they are welcome to wear smart casual.

Important Considerations:
  • We understand some students like to have their T-Shirt signed by their peers. We ask that students do not graffiti or sign the shirt they are wearing for the graduation ceremony. Your child is welcome to bring an additional shirt to be signed.
  • We suggest your child brings an additional shirt for break times, especially if your child's top does not have adequate sleeves or if your child is concerned their top may become dirty at break.
Do I have to register my child for the graduation lunch?
Yes. This is very important. Please make sure you have selected a meal preference for your child. A link to the booking form can be found in Class Dojo or from the reminder emails from the school. Please also ensure your payment is made via the front office or school portal app.

A reminder that this lunch is for currently enrolled year six students at Melrose Primary School only.

When is the graduation CEREMONY?
The 2024 Year Six Graduation will be held at Melrose Primary School's undercover outdoor space on Friday the 6th of December. 

We encourage parents and families to arrive at 9:15am, ready for a 9:30am start. As we are also live streaming the event we will be starting the ceremony at 9:30am sharp.
Can parents attend the graduation CEREMONY?
Absolutely! We extend a very warm welcome to parents and family. Please make sure you have indicated the number of people attending in the graduation registration link sent to you via Class Dojo and the school reminder emails. We encourage you to find a seat in the outdoor undercover space by 9:15am, so everyone can be seated for a 9:30am start.
Do I need to provide a photo of my child's first day of school?
Maybe.
  • No - If you child had their school photo taken at Melrose Primary School in foundation or year 1, we will have a copy of the photo, there is no further action required.
  • Yes - If your child was not enrolled at Melrose Primary School for their first few years of school, we ask that you share a photo of your child's first year at school with us. Photos can be sent in with your child and handed to their classroom teacher. Alternatively you can email the photo to: [email protected]
Can I watch the graduation online?
Yes.

Graduation   Lunch

After the graduation ceremony year six students are invited to attend a special year six lunch in the multi-purpose room. Parents please ensure payment is made through the school portal app and you have responded to the online form to indicate your child's meal preference. If you are having trouble accessing the form, please email: [email protected]
A reminder that the lunch is for students only. Parents are welcome to collect their child from 1:30pm onwards, otherwise students will be dismissed at 3:20pm as normal.

Year Six Magazine

Graduating students received a special full colour magazine in their graduation bag. A digital copy of the magazine will be made available here after the ceremony.
