Overview
You will build and present an information package about the solar system and outer space. Your information package will be formed from the following areas:
- Written Information Report
- Media Presentation
- Design / Construction

Written Task - Information Report
- Choose a topic
Select a topic about space to explore in detail. You should choose a topic you are already familiar with.
Select appropriate sub-headings for your research page such as; description, location, climate, features, appearance, how it got it’s name, history, classification, atmosphere, What it’s made of, structure, interesting facts, Orbit, etc. - Research Your Topic
You can research information from books and online resources. Think about research skills you could apply to ensure your using your time wisely and finding accurate information. Ensure you record your information under the correct headings. - Write a draft
Share your draft copy of your Information Report with your teacher before you start a good copy. You will be assessed on the structure and language features of an Information Report. - Write a good copy
Your good copy should be neat, well presented and follow the structure of an Information Report. Make sure you edit your work and share it with a friend or family member before handing it in to your teacher.
Multimedia Display
- Select a Multimedia format
Build a package that you can present to your class about a topic relating to space exploration using one of the multimedia formats listed above.
Presentation
- Prepare a presentation
Have a list of relevant dot points that you can expand on during your presentation.
Do not read directly from your multimedia display, you will be expected to elaborate. - .Question & Answer
You will be expected to answer questions about your topic. Think about questions you think people may ask you. - Practise to deliver a confident and prepared presentation.
